Erik Young: From Parramore to Silicon Valley CEO

Erik Young reflects on his journey as an African American male, growing up in one of the most dangerous neighborhoods in the US, Parramore in Orlando, FL, to moving to Silicon Valley to become the CEO and Co-founder of Audios. Erik internalized encouragement from his father, who himself had an extensive criminal record due to systemic circumstances, but implored Erik to use his potential to pursue higher education.  Through determination, grit, education, street smarts, and coping with racism and barriers, he pursued a career in engineering and co-founded Audios, the first truly cableless loudspeaker for indoor and outdoor venues and event spaces. He shares his strategies for never losing hope in humanity.
