Is Our Justice System Really Just?

In the words of Alan Jenkins, our U.S. criminal justice system seems to be straying from its core values. 🏛️

The system, designed to prevent harm, uphold equal justice, and ensure accountability, is currently falling short of these ideals.

Despite some recent improvements, the system often inflicts harm rather than preventing it. 🚔

Interestingly, crime is at historically low levels, contrary to what the sensational news headlines might lead us to believe. 📰

However, any harm is problematic and the focus should be on prevention rather than punishment.

Let's hope for a future where our justice system truly upholds its values and works towards preventing harm rather than causing it. 🙏
