Christine Salcedo is an Army Reserves Veteran who served a tour for Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan.  She is guided by the mantra: "Be kind."  We discuss:

  • Her journey as a female, Asian American Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander (AANHPI), Army Reserves Veteran
  • Transitioning back to civilian life after being deployed in Afghanistan
  • How she continues to serve Veterans in a health care setting and advocates for the AAHNPI community

Christine Salcedo was born in San Diego, CA and raised in the Bay Area.  She attended college locally at San Jose State University and earned a Bachelors in Anthropology and Masters in Public Administration.  Prior to completing her academic journey, she took a detour into the Army Reserves and served a tour for Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan in 2006. Christine is active as a chair for a federal council and continues to give back to her fellow Veterans.  Today she continues to serve her community as a health care professional and cares for her three daughters and son.
