For most controversial issues in society, the problem is not the response, it's the lack of response.
This is because people are often afraid to speak up or take action for fear of backlash or retribution.
However, when people do take a stand, it can often be the catalyst for change. Taking a stand also means paving the way for others to follow.
People often do not know how to respond simply because they really do not know how, or they are wondering if their efforts will even make an impact. Taking a stand and leading the way shows all those who are on the edge wipe away all the second guesses.
We, as a people, are inclined to do good, at least that is our hope. If someone leads, we are pretty sure a lot will follow. That’s why good leaders are indispensable!
